Dancehall artiste Teejay on Friday (December 15) released the official remix for his mega summer hit “Drift” which features Afrobeats star Davido.

The song is glued in the DNA of 90s Dancehall, but last month, Teejay announced on UK’s Kiss Fresh, with radio disc jockey DJ Davda that he and his team will be adding “Afrobeats style around it, to give it that body, that happy sound that people need to hear.” This is exactly what Davido has done using his infectious vocals that are like butter on a loaf of toasted bread.

The official video was also released this morning, which shows Teejay and his team exiting a private aircraft and being greeted in Nigeria by Davido and his team.

The video was shot, edited, and directed in Nigeria and shows both artistes drift-ing and having fun.

Meanwhile, this new collaboration comes as Davido’s “Timeless album” is rated to be the best Afrobeats album for 2023.
