The newly signed Warner Music Group artiste Teejay was forced to clarify the ownership of his summer 2023 hit “Drift.”

Reportedly upcoming burgeoning producer DJ Mac has made claims of ownership.

Teejay explained the song’s origins and stated that he obtained the rhythm from Panda and then recorded it in Don’s Garage in Miami, Florida.

He also explained his decision to credit DJ Mac as one of the producers of the song and also had some colourful words for him.

Many have hailed “Drift” as the song for the summer. The impact of the song has been felt all over the globe so much so that corporate telecoms company FLOW have inked a deal with Teejay, making him their ‘Toppa Tappa Summa’ Campaign Brand Ambassador for 2023.
