Sixteen-year-old Zidane Thomas of Higgin Town, St Ann died of injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle collision along Higgin Town Road in the parish on Wednesday, October 13.

Reports from the Cave Valley Police are that about 3:30 pm, a Toyota Townace motor vehicle was travelling along the mentioned roadway; Thomas was travelling in the opposite direction on a bicycle. Thomas was reportedly trying to negotiate a right turn when the bicycle collided with the Toyota Townace. Thomas was thrown from the bicycle and received head injuries. He was assisted to the hospital where he died while being treated.

The driver of the Toyota Townace motor vehicle was warned for prosecution.

Investigations continue.
