National senior Reggae Girlz striker Khadija “Bunny” Shaw has been listed as the 62nd best female footballer by British-based media outlet The Guardian as part of the 100 best players of 2022 list.
Shaw has been having one of the best stints of form this year for both club and country.
The Manchester City forward has been the dominant player in the Women’s Super League (WSL) racking up a league-leading eight goals in nine games with two assists for the Lady Cityzens, to help the former champions move to fourth on the back seven games unbeaten six consecutive wins.
Shaw was also supreme for the reggae girls netting 12 times in CONCACAF women’s championships and World Cup qualifications to lead Jamaica’s historic back-to-back qualification.
The Jamaican’s 62nd rank this year is a slight dip from her 55th year-end rank in the 2021 publication.
However, with the Women’s world cup set to kick off next year and given her current run-in form the talismanic forward is expected to earn a record-high placement on the list.
Manchester City played out a 1-1 drawn result against Coty rival Manchester United on Sunday which was their final fixture for the year.
