NFL Hall of Famer and sports media personality Shannon Sharpe has dismissed the $50 million sexual assault lawsuit against him as a shakedown for money.
Sharpe addressed the suit in a short clip posted which was posted to his social media account on Tuesday afternoon. The former Broncos linebacker said that the claims malicious tactic by an attorney, who previously targeted Jay-Z, now attempting a play at him.
The former athlete also revealed his intention is to counter-sue for defamation of character in the wake of the fiasco.
Last week, the us social media landscape was a buzz with shock and curiosity following news of the allegations of rape as part of multi-million-dollar suit against him. Claims that the popular podcast has vehemently denied.
The case also took an interesting turn following the circulation of an audio clip online of a purported exchange between the alleged victim and Sharpe, which involved talk of choking.

It’s unclear if the clip was related to or prompted the public address, if the audio is authentic or if it’s coincidental.
It’s the latest scandal Sharpe has been involved in over the past year, following his now-notorious Instagram live, where he ‘accidentally’ went live during what appeared to be a moment of intercourse, which over a minute of audio was streamed before it ended. He later owned up it the mistake, calling the moment an embarrassing situation.
