Timbaland to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame

Well-known and respected Hip-Hop producer, DJ & artiste Timbaland will be inducted in this year’s Songwriters Hall of Fame, for all his contributions to music.

He is known for being the mastermind behind hits like Jay-Z’s “Big Pimpin’,” Justin Timberlake’s “SexyBack,” and Missy Elliott’s “Get Ur Freak On,” among others.

In an interview with CBS, Timbaland said news of the induction “Caught me off guard because you know for me, I don’t never look at my work to be put up on a pedestal. I just love to keep working and doing what God gave me the gift to do.”

The other nominees for this year’s Songwriters Hall of Fame include R.E.M., Steely Dan, Hillary Lindsey, and Dean Pitchford. 

The induction ceremony will be held on June 13 in New York City.
