A Tropical storm warning has been issued for the islands of Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada and other dependencies as forecasters have indicated a disturbance approaching the Caribbean with the potential to become Tropical Storm Bonnie as early as Wednesday.
The Miami-based National Hurricane Center also highlighted that the system has a 70 per cent chance of formation within 48 hours and a 90 per cent chance of formation within five days.
So far, the system currently has maximum sustained winds of 40 miles per hour.
In addition, the system is expected to pass near or over portions of the southern Windward Islands late Tuesday and move over the southern Caribbean Sea or near the northern coast of Venezuela Wednesday and Thursday.
In the interim, the National Hurricane Center has issued appeal to countries like Venezuela, Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao to monitor the system as potential tropical cyclone is expected to produce heavy rains.
Furthermore, three inches of rain are expected over the islands from Guadeloupe to St Lucia; three to four inches in St Vincent and the Grenadines, and Barbados respectively.
Additionally, the cyclone is expected to produce four to six inches over Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago, and northeastern Venezuela.
