A US citizen was arrested and charged in relation to ammunition found in his possession at Sangster International Airport last evening. The accused is 29-year-old Javius Mitchell, a Lab Technician of Emily, St. Bainbridge, Georgia.

Police reports indicate that around 1:45 p.m., Mitchell was in the process of boarding a flight to the US.

During the process however, a search was conducted by Border and Custom Patrol officers which yielded two Sig Sauer magazines, one of which contained eight 9-millimeter rounds of ammunition.

The suspect was later detained and charged.

This seizure comes hours after investigators seized a tanfoglio .25 pistol with a magazine containing three .25 cartridges during an operation in Salt Spring, St James on Wednesday.

The discovery was made by members of the Joint Anti- Gang Task Force at around 10:30 a.m. No suspect has since been arrested in connection to the seizure.
