Dancehall star Mr Vegas shares that he would love to see more collaborations within dancehall and believes the genre could be boosted with the increased musical link-ups among their peers, especially between the old and new school acts.

Vegas, speaking during a recent interview on NewYork-based radio Power 105, with Dj Noire, shared his ideas on dancehall acts doing more work together as he applauded the success of Jamaicans collabs with Afrobeats and Afro-based artistes in recent times.

While there have been several notable joint drops with major names such as Masicka and Teejay, Tommy Lee and Skeng and Valiant and Kartel, it’s suggested that more cross-era collabs could inject that extra spice and energy for the fans.

The Afro/dancehall link-up has yielded major projects over the years, coinciding with the genre’s rise globally with names like Skillibeng, Popcaan, and Shenseea, among features on huge records.

The latter (Skillibeng, Shenseea) was most recently linked with rising Ghanian sensation Moliy for the remix of her viral hit “Shake It to the Max.
