Vogue Magazine touts Valiant among “musicians to Take Over In 2023”

The dominance of dancehall sensation Valiant continues to make waves after being recognized as one of the nine artistes to watch for 2023 by the international publication Vogue Magazine.

The diplomat frontman who has been easily one the most recognizable acts in the last quarter of 2022 has not only penetrated the local and regional but has also begun to garner the ears of more global listenership.

The dancehall act has been ranked among eight other fast-rising stars internationally to make major impacts in 2023 as Vogue recaps his rise to fame in giving a highlight to the talented deejay.

“Making huge waves in Jamaica (making history as the first artist to have five songs simultaneously top the country’s Youtube chart), Valiant first started to shape the culture through a TikTok, creating a new slang term when he said “Kotch e hat” in a viral video.”

 “Valiant used the subsequent attention to release back-to-back hits that have made him an overnight star. He brings his own dark, fervent flow to dancehall, describing his sound as “trappa gospel”.  

Valliant has been listed alongside R&B singer COCO Jones pop singer and TikTok star Addison Rae as well as New York-based hip sensation Lola Brooks all of whom have amassed an immense following over the last year.

Valiant who arguably had the most number 1 trending songs last year has already begun to live up to those projections, with his first top trending single of the year with -Glock 40’

The track which was officially released last week has already peaked as the most listened-to song in the country on YouTube only two days after its premiere.

Given the increased notoriety and ever-expanding fan base he’s already set to make just as big an impact if not bigger in the New Year.
