“We are all on the same page” says Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag about Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at the club.

The Dutchman addressed the media regarding the seeming clash of vision between the player and the manager.

“We are happy with him, he’s happy to be here and we want to make the season a success together,” Ten Haag said.

“From the start we said we planned with him. It’s your vision, not my vision. We are all on one page ” he added.

The Portugal captain, who was United’s top scorer last season with 24 goals in all competitions has had a tumultuous start to a season that has seen him benched in the last two games following uncertainty about his future at the club after asking to be released in the summer.

However, with the closing of the summer transfer window, Ten Hag insisted that the 37-year-old is committed to being at Old Trafford.

One of the other questions surrounding Ronaldo in the team is where he will fit into the squad, to which Ten Hag said: “You can see in training that it is clear that he has the capabilities. He will fit in because… I don’t have to explain. Great player. He will fit in every system or every style. As per Sky

“That’s why we are talking, I said we are on one page. He knows what the demands are ” the Manager added.

This news comes after Ronaldo had promised to reveal “the truth” about his future soon after reading so many “lies” this summer.

Ten Hag added the club will recently splash over £140 million pounds in the last two weeks on high-profile acquisitions Casemiro from Real Madrid and former Ajax star Anthony.

He however refused to talk about the arrival of Brazil international Antony as “the paperwork is not done so I cannot go too deep into that”. He said

However, he said that in the attacking department “we need to strengthen our squad”.

“We have many games to cover – from now on we go in three games a week.”

“Especially from offensive players, they are quicker fatigued because they have to run more and run with higher intensity ” he added.

After being at the bottom of the league with two defeats in their opening two games United have found renewed confidence with two wins in their previous two.

“We need numbers there, we need not just quantity but quality.”
