A 25-year-old woman has been arrested and charged for reportedly dousing her lover’s wife and his 2-year-old son in acid on Monday in Nagpur, India.

The suspect in question has been charged under section 326A, related to acid attacks, of the Indian Penal Code.

According to reports, both the accused and the victim exchanged heated words through social media regarding the alleged affair between the accused and her husband.

It is understood that as the exchange escalated the accused reportedly threatened the victim that she would douse her in acid if she continued to have relations with her lover.   The victim, however, ignored the warning and continued her relationship with her husband for the sake of her child.

The accused, however, took matters into her hands and conspired with a friend to teach her competitor a lesson.  Last Saturday the accused reportedly paid the victim a visit and flung acid on her and her child before making an escape.

Both victims were taken to hospital where they were admitted in serious condition. The accused was later arrested and charged; her accomplice, however, remains at large.
