Fast rising Reggae/Dancehall artiste Yaksta, received the song of the year prize from the Jamaica and Reggae Industry Association (JARIA) ceremony last night.

Yaksta walked away with the coveted accolade for his break out single ‘Ambition’ which has dominated charts and playlist since its release last year.

The ‘Money Talk’ artist was naturally excited about the recognition however, ensured to use the moment to also highlight persons who were involved in track and his career to this point as well as sharing commendation for organizers.

The Artiste, whose content revolves around ‘conscious’ topics could be labeled as upliftment music. His career has certainly been elevated since his big break with several other hits songs following ambition.

As well as recognition from not only his peers in the music industry but being acknowledged and referenced within the political space as a role model through his craft and messaging.

The ‘hype and bruk’ hitmaker has also been among nominees for several other awards within the last 12 months including the Sleek awards for Best New artist, and Artist of the year, also Singjay of the Year.

The ‘Bush lawd’ who has been among the top billed young artistes for various events across the island, as well oversees is also  part of the roster on the return of Reggae Sumfest where he’s expected to be a major crowd pleaser.
