Jamaica on Thursday recorded 45 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number to 128,318.
There were two additional deaths, increasing the figure to 2,839. There are no deaths under investigation nor coincidental deaths.
The deceased are:
- A 65-year-old man from Westmoreland (died November 2021)
- A 94-year-old woman from St Catherine (died March 2022)
The positivity rate increased from 3.3 per cent to 6.9 per cent. The total number of tests: 2,317.
Of the 45 new cases, St James all accounted for the highest number with 12 each.
Kingston and St Andrew in the meantime, accounted for the second-highest number of cases with 9; St Catherine followed with 7; Clarendon with 5 each; St Thomas and St Ann with 4 each; St Elizabeth with 2; Portland and Trelawny with 1 each. Hanover, Manchester St Mary and Westmoreland recorded no new cases.
