754 COVID-19 cases, 10 deaths

Jamaica on Monday recorded 754 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number to 121,436.

There were 10 additional deaths, increasing the figure to 2,609. There were no coincidental deaths nor deaths under investigation.

The deceased are:

  • A 90-year-old man from St Catherine
  • A 71-year-old woman from St Catherine
  • A 62-year-old man from St Catherine
  • A 76-year-old man from St Catherine
  • A 82-year-old woman from St Catherine
  • A 81-year-old woman from St Catherine
  • A 57-year-old man from Kingston and St Andrew
  • A 96-year-old woman from Kingston and St Andrew
  • A 92-year-old woman from Kingston and St Andrew
  • A 59-year-old woman from Kingston and St Andrew

These deaths occurred between March 2021 and January 2022.

The positivity rate decreased from 48 per cent to 46 per cent. The total number of tests: 2,812.

Of the 754 new cases, Kingston and St Andrew accounted for the highest number with 187.

St Catherine, in the meantime, accounted for the second-highest number of cases with 136; St James followed with 76; St Elizabeth with 71; Westmoreland with 68; St Mary with 45; St Thomas with 33; Manchester with 28; Portland with 27; Trelawny with 24; Clarendon with 22; Hanover with 21; St Ann with 16.
